tractor rules

currently running 12hp. stock and modified lawntmowers.  basic rules on tractor racing are:

* driver must be18 yrs. old

* must wear approved helmet ,neck brace and chest protector.

*legible numbers on hood and sides( 8in. min.)

*fire extingusher with crew.

these are basic build steps. 

must have factory built frame.must have rear fenders and hood. seat may be offset.wheelbase not to exceed 50 in. on sides and 40in. in front and rear. two in. stagger allowed.turf tires,front and rear.stock axles,may be modified.frame solid anchored 2bolts in rear and 1 in front.wheels must have cotter pins and or theaded bolts to secure wheels.

how to   ;

stock lawnmower pre80s seem to be best. you want the lowest and widest possible. remove deck, remove governer on engine and change engine and rear pulleys to about half the original size{ this  gearing will change later to optimize speed} and mount car point set or kill switch to dash with a leather lanyard to ground engine[ manatory]. rear axle 3spd. seems best with ring and pinion welded. widen left axle to get 40in. in  rear .
