Rules

          NOTE: SHADETREE SPEEDWAY HAS AGREED TO USE AKRA GUIDELINES FOR 2009, WHICH ARE CHANGING OFTEN. WE WILL ADJUST THESE RULES FOR OUR TRACK WHEN OUR SEASON STARTS.

Weight:  7-11yrs is 250lbs

                12-15yrs is 275lbs

          Adult class:  340lbs              

 OHV clone rules { akra guidelines} 2009

1.  6.5hp ohv clone stock motor is the only one allowed. 

2. governor may be removed.

3.  see 4cycle.com under clone rules for engine specs.

4.  Factory air filter or K&N filter.  Jet may be drilled to a no-go of .042 inch.

5. No internal modifications allowed to engine.

6.  Tie wrap must be on spark plug.

7. Regular gas, no additives.  No racing fuel.

8. SHOE CLUTCH ONLY. $50.00 TRACK CLAIM RULE. 

9. No additives in the oil.

10.  Weights need to be securely mounted.

11.  Chain guard and rotor guard Highly recommended.

12.  Tach/temperture gauges allowed.

13.  Header and muffler requirements:  Any single stage, one piece header made from .750" O.D steel tubing allowed with or without the BS tube style muffler part *8996 or it's aftermarker equivlent (ex.:  rotary power) installed at the end of pipe.  The tube style muffler may either be welded or tread fitted to the pipe end.  The entire exhaust pipe including the muffler is 14" max length and 10" min length. Muffler wrapped recommended.  Header is optional.

14.  Gas cap may be changed to aftermarket cap.

15.  Electric starter permitted.

 

Spirit and Intent:  These rules provide technical specifications and procedures to provide legallity of engines, racing chasis and associated components.  The officials at sanction events are authorized to decide any changes or designs is an attempt to beat the rules.  In these cases, the race officials may disqualify an entry based on the spirit and intent of these rules.

Claim rule:  $200.00 Engine claim to include complete engine. Does not include engine mount,air filter, throttle linkage ,HEADER AND CLUTCH and clutch guard.  Engine may be claimed by anyone in that class following their completion of feature event within 10 minutes to claim oppentants motor. The track may also claim your engine at any time or replace it with a new one at any event, if the engine is found to be illegal, you will not be allowed to compete in this class for the remainder of the season and will lose all points and awards for the season!
